What’s Scruffy Mutt All About?

Thanks for stopping by.

We’re Scruffy Mutt Theatre and it’s our firm belief that quality participation in the arts can change people’s lives, boosting confidence and self esteem. That’s why we run weekly theatre and voice workshops for young people between the ages 5 – 21 years, and why we have a commitment to providing as many performance opportunities for our young people as possible; staging at least five performances a year.

Last August, seven talented Scruffy Mutters performed at the Edinburgh Fringe with our age appropriate adaptation of ‘A Clockwork Orange’. And this summer we will be returning to the Fringe, this time with our brand new show; The Red Shoes, performed at the prestigious Space UK theatre from the 20th to 25th of August.

Last year we were lucky enough to share the space with Ex Dr Who Sylvester Mcoy, performing right after us. Who knows what celeb we’ll run into this year?

We don’t just focus on straight theatre, we also run classes in the following dance styles: Freestyle, Dance Acro, Contemporary, Lyrical, and have recently set up a Cheerleading Squad for ages 5-21 years.

Scruffy Mutt Dance Company represent Cornwall in nation wide competitions and came 1st in their last competition. This year, they are off to 5 more comps, including an international Cheerleading contest at Disneyland Paris alongside our Cheerleaders who will also be representing Cornwall in the Future Cheer Competition.

And as if that wasn’t enough, we will soon be setting up a film/tv/modelling casting agency, providing first class employment and performance opportunities to the young people of Falmouth.

If you’re interested in joining Scruffy Mutt, please get in touch, we’d love to hear from you.
